Sanket Vijayasarathy New DelhiSeptember 17, 2019UPDATED: September 18, 2019 13:15 IST Samsung Galaxy M30s will offer a 6,000mAh battery and 48MP triple cameras, both of which are upgrades over the M30.HIGHLIGHTSSamsung Galaxy M30s will launch in India on September 18.It features a 6,000mAh battery and a 48MP triple camera.Galaxy M30s is expected to launch between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 in India.Samsung has been quite aggressive this year, launching a number of Galaxy M and A series phones in India that range from budget to mid-range. Under the Galaxy M series, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy M10, M20, M30 and M40. The Galaxy A list is even bigger, going all the way up to the A80. Samsung is not done, however, as it is looking at bringing updated models of phones launched in the first half of the year. It has already announced the Galaxy A30s and A50s in India. On Wednesday, September 18, Samsung will bring the Galaxy M30s.The Galaxy M30s will be based on the M30, but will pack a bunch of upgrades to keep it more relevant. Not that the M30 is less relevant, but given the ever-growing competition in the budget and mid-range segments in India, the M30s will look to offer something unique. The one big USP of the Galaxy M30s that Samsung has been hyping is its massive 6,000mAh battery. Here’s what else we know so far.– The Galaxy M30 already offers a large 5,000mAh battery, but the M30s will take it a few notches higher with a 6,000mAh capacity, which would be a first for any phone in this segment. The M30s will tout a two-day battery life on its massive 6,000mAh battery, which should be plenty for gaming and video streaming on the go.– This will be the first phone in India to offer a 6,000mAh battery. The only other phone that offers this capacity is the Asus ROG Phone 2, which will launch in India on September 23 at a much more premium price point.advertisement– Samsung has also revealed that the Galaxy M30s will come with a Super AMOLED display. Renders of the smartphone show that the M30s will sport an Infinity-U waterdrop screen much like its predecessor.– As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy M30s will be a major upgrade over the M30. In addition to a larger battery, the M30s will also get a new and faster mobile processor. Samsung is yet to reveal the details of the processor, but you can expect it to be an upgrade over the 1.8Gz Exynos 7904 chipset that powered the M30 and M20.– The Galaxy M30s will also get an upgraded triple camera setup. The system will include a 48MP primary sensor as per Samsung’s teaser. Additionally, we expect to see a wide-angle lens and a depth sensor. To recall, the Galaxy M30 comes with a 13MP primary camera, 5MP ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor.– According to a recent listing on TENAA, the Galaxy M30s will come with 18W fast charging support, which would be slightly faster than the 15W fast charging tech on the M30. That being said, the M30s gets a bigger battery as well, so it will be interesting to see how long the 18W charger will take to fully charge up the device.– Additional specs revealed by TENAA include a 6.4-inch FHD+ display, 24MP selfie camera and up to 6GB of RAM.– As for the pricing, the Galaxy M30s is expected to launch at prices similar to the M30. We expect the phone to cost somewhere between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.– In addition to the Galaxy M30s, Samsung will also launch the Galaxy M10s and a new Galaxy M30 3GB + 32GB variant. The M10s will be a refreshed version of the M10 with an upgraded dual camera setup, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a possible 4,000mAh battery priced under Rs 10,000.ALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A30s launched in India: Specs, availability detailsGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story? zoom Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has held today the keel laying ceremony at its Marghera shipyard for Seabourn Encore, the first of two ultra-luxury cruise ships to be built for Seabourn, brand of Carnival Corporation. The steel cutting that marked the construction start of the new ship was held in April. Seabourn Encore, due to join the Seabourn’s fleet at the end of 2016, will be built according to Seabourn’s standards and technical solutions and will continue the fleet modernization that began in 2009.The all-suite ship will be approximately 41,700 gross tons, 210 metres long and 28 metres wide and will be able to reach a cruising speed of 18.6 knots. It will carry up to just 600 guests, based on double occupancy. Every suite will feature a private veranda.“Safety will be one of this ship’s major strong points. It will be built using the very latest technologies, whose standards will exceed the requirements of the relevant legislation. Fuel consumption will be significantly reduced by optimizing the ship’s hydrodynamics,” the shipbuilder said in a release.A sister ship, Seabourn Ovation, will join the fleet in 2018, and, with the addition of the two new ships, Seabourn claims it would have the youngest ultra-luxury fleet in the industry.Fincantieri has built 70 cruise ships since 1990 and other 14 ships are currently being designed or built in the group’s yards.
