Noah Fant has been attracting plenty of attention as well, and one analyst made a bold NFL comparison. On Monday’s edition of Good Morning Football, NFL analyst Peter Schrager compared Fant to five-time Pro Bowler Jimmy Graham. Schrager also added that Fant and Hockenson are likely to be the top two tight ends taken in the draft.Graham is a great player to be compared to, as he came in and dominated the NFL despite never playing college football. He has averaged over 800 yards and seven touchdowns per year, and led the NFL in touchdowns in 2013 en route to All-Pro honors.Fant and Hockenson are roughly the same size, with Hockenson only slightly out-sizing his Iowa teammate. But Fant proved to be significantly more athletic, running a 4.50 40-time – the fastest of all tight ends – as well as more bench reps, a higher vertical, and a longer broad jump. You might not have known @nrfant before the combine, but after his performance @PSchrags is comparing him to @TheJimmyGraham 👀 pic.twitter.com/vG8NFIfv41— GMFB (@gmfb) March 4, 2019NFL.com scout Lance Zierlein was not quite as bold in his comparison. Zierlein compared Fant to Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron.Hockenson, on the other hand, has drawn comparisons by Zierlein to four-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce.Fant had 39 catches for 519 yards and a team-leading seven touchdowns for the Hawkeyes last season.Bleacher Report currently has him projected to be drafted outside of the first round, while Tankathon’s mock draft has him going No. 32 overall by the New England Patriots.last_img read more
