No deaths had been reported since Thursday. The local death toll remained at 349.The number of average daily infections in Pasadena over the prior week was recorded at 1.1. The average had dropped to 0.9 last week.The Los Angeles County Health Department reported three news COVID-19 deaths and 134 new infections on Monday, bringing the county’s pandemic totals to 1,245,253 infections and 24,392 deaths. The figures were believed to reflect a lag in reporting over the weekend.Los Angeles County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis said 254 COVID-19 patients remained hospitalized with the virus.Vaccination progress continued in the county, with more than 4.5 million residents over the age of 16, or 54% percent of the county population, already fully vaccinated.Davis credited vaccination with the continued downward trend in transmission of the virus.“Over the weekend, we learned that the state of California has one of the lowest transmission metrics in the country, according to the CDC,” he said. “This is not an accident, it’s the result of many, many hours invested by countless community leaders in educating people and preventing transmission and working to maximize access to vaccines, as well as the efforts of every single person who continues to make prevention a priority.”State officials listed 874 new infections and three deaths on Monday, raising the totals to 3,690,868 COVID-19 cases and 62,473 deaths.According to California Department of Public Health data, the statewide positivity rate was 0.7%.As of Monday, L.A.
