first_imgSo you spent $500 or more on an iPad. Reading, emailing, and playing games are all fun, but do you ever fantasize about setting it on the floor and watching your cat scratch away at it? No?? No matter — Friskies has you covered anyway, with its release of a series of iPad games for cats. The company has released a handful of phone and tablet apps, including Jitter Bug, Cat Fishing, Tasty Treasure Hunt, and Piñata Fiesta. Images of cat food dart around the screen, begging to be attacked by Mr. Whiskers. When he does pounce, the app responds by shooting out more cat food.Rarely is an idea so clever and foolish all at once. These games are great for cats; the dancing images ignite your feline’s predatory instincts. Yet there’s the rub: do you want your iPad to become your cat’s prey?Gorilla Glass is amazing. You can put your device through hell and Corning’s sturdy material will keep it protected. Yet it isn’t perfect, and the displays of iPhones and iPads still collect scratches. Do you really want to test those boundaries just so Fluffy can get his kicks while you sit on your duff eating ho-hos?Many American cats are declawed. If yours is, then, by all means: let Shadow go to town. But if he isn’t, do yourself a favor and buy a feather wand for him. Your cat will love it, and you just might avoid ruining a $500 investment. You can check out Friskies’ promo vid below:Friskies, via Red Ferretlast_img read more
